Larissa earned her Permaculture Certificate in 2013, from courses taught by instructor Cindee Karns through the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
Larissa has been a teacher in Anchorage since 1998 and currently teaches high school English at South Anchorage High School. Her passion for permaculture began in earnest in 2012, after visiting an Earthship in Taos, NM, with friends. Together they started a blog to document their experiments in “going green” in families with small children.
But permaculture is more than just recycling and gardening. Larissa founded Anchorage’s first babywearing group, ran a successful babywearing business, volunteers for various organizations, and makes the time to relax in nature via activities or lounge chairs.
